Bhabish Shrestha
President, Co-founder
Passionate about supporting the community, especially in areas of mental health and wellbeing, with a focus on creating a safe, inclusive space where people feel understood, supported, and never alone through MFH.

Bhabish Shrestha

Bhabish is a highly experienced, multi-award-winning accredited social worker with over a decade of work across clinical mental health, public health, community engagement, and youth leadership in Western Sydney and Nepal. He has worked extensively with Indigenous, CALD, and marginalized communities, focusing on culturally safe, equitable, and empowering support.He has led large-scale outreach and education programs, delivered professional training, supervised students, and strengthened collaboration across health, education, and community sectors. In a key role addressing gambling harm, he delivered 153 events in nine months, reached over 15,100 people, and facilitated numerous referrals while managing clinical caseloads.His achievements include major awards such as the Western Sydney Unsung Heroes Award and multiple Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Awards. He has also contributed to public awareness through talk shows and webinars on mental health and social issues.Prior to Australia, he worked in Nepal on initiatives including child governance, WASH, disaster relief, and SDG training, while also holding leadership roles such as the first Youth Home Minister in Nepal’s Federal Youth Parliament and contributing to various youth and human rights organizations.

Nabin Gautam
Secretary, Co-founder
Believes in the power of community and clear communication to create meaningful change, ensuring MFH’s efforts reach those in need while helping break stigma around sensitive issues.

A leadership-driven professional focused on mental health advocacy and student services, working to promote inclusivity and empower both community members and students. Experience spans roles in community mental health and university support services for domestic and international students.Served as President of Nepali Students at Western Sydney (2024), leading a community of 500+ students through cultural events, mental health initiatives, and peer support programs. Recognized as NSW International Student of the Year 2023 for contributions to student welfare and engagement.Also contributes as Secretary of the Australian Nepalese Blood Donor Association and Mates From Himalayas, and has been actively involved in organizing major cultural events in Sydney. Committed to supporting student well-being, migrant communities, and broader social impact.

Aashish Neupane
Treasurer
Committed to ensuring MFH grows sustainably and transparently, with a focus on managing resources responsibly to create a lasting positive impact in the community.

Aashish Neupane
Treasurer
Aashish is an award-winning international student pursuing a Master’s in Social Work, with a strong focus on leadership, advocacy, and community impact. He has been recognized as a Highly Commended NSW International Student of the Year 2024 and received the WSU Chancellor’s Unsung Hero Award at the ZEST Awards 2025.He actively contributes to student representation, wellbeing initiatives, and leadership programs, and currently serves as an elected Director on the WSUSU Board, supporting strategic decision-making and student advocacy. He is also the Treasurer of Mates From Himalayas (MFH), further demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and organizational leadership.
